Ideas

The Future of Work - recently begun the Reinvent course with Paul Millerd. The course explores new ways of working and how to design work that you want to pursue. My new work position will explore this theme in a broad context.

The Scholar Athlete - a paradigm I’ve been interested in for a while. Plato’s ideal citizen, a person of thought and action. Here are some scholar athletes.

Online Community - I’m part of a few online communities that use Slack, Discord and Facebook to facilitate. Considering my own version, potentially coalescing around some of my other themes.

Collaboration - I want to be able to leverage tech and new ways of working to create things quickly, lightly and profoundly.

Then

Endgame - the Endgame project spoke to former rugby players of my acquaintance to talk through their transitions out of the game. I also collated some useful material for retiring players and although I won’t be pursuing the project now, it’s helped me to secure my new role with LAPS, dealing with Content around the topic. It’s the definition of a side project proving useful and I’d like to return to it in some capacity in future.
